Get Your Console Ready for GTA 6
GTA 6 is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. If your console is short of space, running hot, losing its picture or paired with a drifting controller, now is the time to sort it — before launch week, when everyone else is trying to.
Make room for it
Big open-world games need a lot of space, and a launch PS5 has around 667GB usable. An M.2 SSD in the expansion slot means installing GTA 6 without deleting everything else. Xbox Series X|S storage expands with a plug-in card you can fit yourself.
Keep it cool for long sessions
Launch week means long sessions, and a console with clogged heatsinks or tired thermal compound gets loud, throttles or shuts down. A strip-down clean, and on a PS5 a liquid metal check, puts that right.
Check the picture
If the picture drops out when the cable is touched, or you have sound with no picture, the HDMI port is on its way out. It is far better fixed before launch than in the middle of it.
Fix the drift
A drifting stick is a worn module, not a worn-out controller, and it is a quick repair compared with buying a new pad — especially an Edge or an Elite.
Console dead or switching off?
If the console will not start, beeps and shuts off, or sits on a blue light, get it diagnosed now — power supply and board faults take longer than a clean.
