PS5 Deep Clean & Fan Service

A PS5 moves a lot of air, and everything in that air ends up inside it. Dust builds up on the heatsink fins in a mat that the fan cannot shift, and once the fins are blocked the fan has to work permanently harder to move less heat. You hear it long before the console does anything dramatic about it.

A proper clean is a strip-down, not a can of compressed air through the vents — blowing air in from outside mostly pushes the dust further into the heatsink and onto the board. We take the console apart, clean the heatsink and fan blades directly, clear the dust traps and vents, and reassemble it properly.

This is the cheapest thing you can do for a console and the one most worth doing before something goes wrong. A PS5 that runs cool runs quiet, holds its frame rate, and puts far less thermal stress on the APU and the power supply over the years. If it has never been cleaned and it is more than two years old, it is due.

While it is open we check the thermal side of the machine as well. If the liquid metal has degraded we will tell you — and if it has not, we will tell you that too, and you will just pay for the clean.
