What needs fixing?

Screen & Display Assembly

Every Apple Watch has its display bonded to the front crystal, so a cracked screen is a full display assembly — not a glass swap. We match Ion-X with Ion-X and sapphire with sapphire.

Battery & Swollen Cells

From a watch that dies by lunchtime to a battery that has swollen and pushed the screen out of the case. The second one is urgent — it can crack the display and let water in.

Charging & Water Damage

Won’t charge on the puck, charges intermittently, or has been in the sea. We test the whole charging path and treat moisture before it spreads to the board.

What makes Apple Watch repairs different

Sapphire is matched, never downgraded

Stainless steel and titanium Apple Watches ship with a sapphire crystal; aluminium ones use Ion-X glass. A cheap repair that puts glass on a sapphire watch leaves you with a watch that scratches in a pocket. We check which you have and match it.

A swollen battery is not cosmetic

On Series 3 to Series 6 especially, an ageing cell swells and lifts the display away from the case. Left alone it cracks the screen, strains the display cable and opens a path for water. Caught early it is a straightforward battery job.

Honest about when not to repair

Apple Watch display assemblies are genuinely expensive parts. On older or smaller models the repair can approach what the watch is worth, and we will tell you that up front rather than quietly taking the work.

Apple Watch models we repair

Each model has its own page covering the faults we see most on it.

Apple Watch repair guidance

My Apple Watch screen has come away from the case

Stop wearing it. That gap is almost always a swollen battery pushing the display out, and the longer it is worn the more likely the screen cracks or the display cable tears. Keep it off the charger and bring it in — replacing the cell early usually saves the display.

The screen works but the glass is cracked

On an Apple Watch the glass and display are one bonded part, so there is no glass-only repair however light the crack looks. The good news is the touch layer and display usually still work, so it is a single assembly swap rather than a hunt for other faults.

It won’t charge, or only charges sometimes

Try a different charging puck and cable first — they fail more often than watches do. If it still will not charge, the usual causes are debris or corrosion on the back sensor crystal, moisture inside, or a failed charging coil. We test all of it before quoting.

It has been in water

Power it off and do not put it on the charger. Apple Watches are water resistant rather than waterproof, and that resistance drops as the seals age. The sooner we can open it and treat any ingress, the better the odds — corrosion keeps working long after the watch looks dry.

Frequently asked questions

Can you replace just the glass on an Apple Watch?

No, and we would be suspicious of anyone who says they can. On every Apple Watch generation the display is bonded to the front crystal, so a cracked screen is repaired by fitting a complete display assembly. We fit the correct part for your exact model, case size and crystal type.

How much is an Apple Watch repair?

It depends on the model, the case size and whether your watch uses Ion-X glass or sapphire. We run a free diagnostic and give you a fixed quote before any work starts. Apple Watch parts are expensive, so on older models we will tell you honestly if the repair is not worth doing.

Do you replace swollen Apple Watch batteries?

Yes, and it is one of the most common Apple Watch jobs we see, particularly on Series 3 to Series 6. We replace the swollen cell, check the display and cable for damage the swelling has caused, and reseal the case afterwards.

Are you an Apple Authorised Service Provider?

No — we are an independent repair shop. That means we can often repair watches Apple would only replace, and we are usually cheaper, but we fit high-quality replacement parts rather than Apple service stock. We tell you exactly what is going into your watch before you agree, and every repair carries our 30-day warranty.

Will my Apple Watch still be water resistant?

We replace the seals whenever we open a watch, so water resistance is restored as far as is achievable on a repaired watch. We cannot re-certify Apple’s original rating with factory pressure-testing equipment, so we recommend treating a repaired watch as splash- and shower-safe rather than for swimming or diving.

Can you repair my Apple Watch if I am not in Newcastle?

Yes. We repair Apple Watches by post for customers across the UK — you send it in, we diagnose it, quote you before any work, and return it tracked. If you are local, walk in to the Newcastle shop instead.

Will I lose my data or have to unpair the watch?

Repairs do not wipe your watch, but we recommend your iPhone is backed up before any repair as a precaution. Please also turn off Activation Lock or bring your Apple ID passcode, otherwise we cannot test the watch properly after the repair.
