What makes Garmin repairs different

Glass-only repairs on most non-AMOLED Garmins

Fenix 5/6/7, the Forerunner 9xx and 2xx lines, Instinct and older Venu Sq models use a transflective (MIP) display with a separate protective lens. If you crack the glass but the screen underneath still works, we can often replace the lens on its own — far cheaper than a full display. We confirm this for free before quoting.

AMOLED models need a full display assembly

On the AMOLED Garmins — Epix, Venu, Vivoactive 5, Forerunner 265/965 and Fenix 7 Pro / 8 AMOLED — the glass is laminated to the panel, so a cracked front means a complete display assembly. We source the correct part for your exact model rather than forcing a generic fit.

Water resistance is restored, not re-certified

Garmin watches are factory-rated to 5 or 10 ATM, but opening the case for any repair breaks that seal. We fit new gaskets so water resistance is restored as far as a repaired watch allows — we recommend treating it as splash- and shower-safe afterwards rather than relying on it for swimming or diving, and we always make this clear before you book.

Sapphire and standard lenses, matched properly

Sapphire editions resist scratches but can shatter on a sharp impact. If your watch came with a sapphire crystal we fit a sapphire replacement to match — we never quietly downgrade it to standard glass to cut corners.

Garmin repair guidance

How to tell whether you need glass-only or a full screen

Look at the display with the watch on. If the picture is clear and touch/buttons still work but the front is cracked or scratched, you likely need a lens (glass) replacement only — common on Fenix, Forerunner and Instinct. If the display shows lines, dead areas, bleeding colour or stays dark, the panel itself is damaged and needs a full assembly. Our free diagnostic confirms which before you pay anything.

What to bring to your Garmin repair

Bring the watch and, if the fault is charging-related, the Garmin charging cable you use. Note when the problem started and what happened just before — a drop, a swim, a hot car. Good detail speeds up diagnosis and helps us quote accurately the first time.

How turnaround works

Lens replacements are usually quick once the correct part is in stock. AMOLED display assemblies, sapphire lenses and water-damage cases vary by model and severity, so we give you a realistic timeframe with your quote rather than a blanket promise.

Repair vs replace

A premium Garmin is usually well worth repairing — a screen, battery or charging fix costs a fraction of a new Fenix or Epix. If a repair ever stops making financial sense for your model, we will tell you straight so you can decide with the facts.

Frequently asked questions

Do you repair all Garmin watches?

We cover the full current and recent Garmin range — Fenix, Epix, Forerunner, Instinct, Venu, Vivoactive, Tactix, MARQ, Approach, Descent, Lily and Vivomove. If your exact model is not listed, book under Garmin and add the model in your notes; we will confirm coverage during the free diagnostic.

How much does a Garmin watch repair cost?

It depends on the model and fault — a glass-only lens replacement is much cheaper than a full AMOLED display assembly, for example. Rather than quote a misleading flat rate, we run a free diagnostic and give you a fixed price before any work starts, so there are no surprises.

Will my Garmin still be waterproof after repair?

We replace the case gaskets and seals whenever we open a watch, so water resistance is restored as far as is achievable on a repaired Garmin. We cannot re-certify the original factory ATM rating, so we recommend treating a repaired watch as splash- and shower-safe rather than for swimming or diving. We explain this clearly before you book.

My Garmin won’t charge — can you fix it?

Usually, yes. The most common cause is corrosion or sweat on the four rear charging contacts, followed by a worn charging cable or moisture inside the watch. We test the whole charging path and fix the actual fault — see our dedicated Garmin charging and water-resistance repair page.

Where are you based?

We are at 119 New Bridge Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 2SW, in Newcastle city centre, with free private parking in front of the shop. Walk in or book online, and your watch never leaves our Newcastle workshop.

Can you replace a Garmin battery that only lasts a day now?

Yes. Garmin cells lose capacity over years of charging, and a replacement typically restores most of the original multi-day endurance. We also check it is genuinely the battery and not a settings or charging-contact issue first — see our Garmin battery replacement page.
