What actually goes wrong
A dead laptop is a symptom with a wide range of causes, and the sequence matters. Before anything else, try a known-good 20W-or-higher USB-C charger on both ports and leave it for half an hour — a completely flat battery on a machine that shipped without a power adapter is the most common "dead MacBook Neo" we see, and it is not a fault at all.
If there is genuinely no response, the question is where the power stops. It could be the battery, the charging circuit, the power button assembly, or the board itself. These are four different repairs at four very different prices, and no honest shop can tell you which one it is from a description over the phone.
A machine that lights up but shows nothing is a different fault from one that is completely dead, and usually better news — that is often a display or display-cable problem on a perfectly healthy computer. Listen for the startup chime and feel for warmth: signs of life point at the display rather than the board.
Board-level work is where the Neo diverges most from the rest of the range. The A18 Pro is an iPhone-class chip in a laptop, and the board is laid out accordingly. We diagnose to component level rather than defaulting to "it needs a new board", which on a machine at this price would usually write it off unnecessarily. If it does turn out to be uneconomical, we will tell you that plainly, and we will get your data off it either way.
