Signs you need this repair
- Charger connected but the battery never charges
- Charges only when the plug is held at an angle
- Battery drains while gaming even on the charger
- Charging light flickers on and off
What actually goes wrong
Work through the cheap causes first: the power brick and its cable, and the Blade's power connector. Most recent Blades also accept USB-C charging at lower power, which helps us tell a faulty charger from a faulty port or circuit.
A Blade that drains while gaming on the charger may simply be drawing more than the brick can supply, which is expected on some models at full load. One that will not charge at all, or only at an angle, has a fault in the connector or the charging circuit, and both are repairable.
