What actually goes wrong
A Blade's cooling has very little margin: high-wattage chips, a thin chassis and small fans. Dust packed into the heatsink fins and dried-out thermal compound take away what margin there is, and the Blade starts throttling or shutting down.
The fix is a full strip-down: heatsinks and fans cleaned directly, old compound removed from the processor and GPU, fresh compound and thermal pads fitted, and worn fans replaced. Compressed air through the vents does not do this, and can push dust deeper in.
