2025 · 6.5-inch

iPhone Air Repair

Apple's ultra-thin 2025 model, a titanium frame around a 6.5-inch display with a single rear camera. Thinness is the whole point of the phone, and it is also what makes it less forgiving on the bench: less room around every part, and a chassis that has to come back exactly as straight as it went in.

Common iPhone Air repairs

Cracked screen

The iPhone Air has an OLED display, and this is where the trade cuts corners. Plenty of shops fit OLED iPhones with an "incell" LCD panel because it costs a fraction of the price. It works, but blacks look grey, colours wash out, the glass sits thicker, and battery life suffers because an LCD backlight is always lit. We tell you exactly which panel we are quoting for before you agree to anything. Apple pairs the display to the logic board, so we move the original calibration across to the new panel. Skip that step and the screen still works, but True Tone and auto-brightness stop behaving as they should.

Battery replacement

Apple designs the iPhone Air's battery to keep about 80% of its capacity after 1,000 full charge cycles. Yours is still young, so a battery is rarely the first repair it needs, but health is easy to check in Settings, Battery, Battery Health. iOS also checks that the battery is genuine and correctly fitted; get that wrong and you see a service message and lose battery health reporting. The way we fit batteries keeps health reporting working.

Face ID and your screen repair

Face ID on the iPhone Air lives in the sensor array at the top of the phone, not in the display, so a careful screen replacement leaves it working. What breaks it is carelessness: the flex cables carrying those sensors are fragile, and a damaged Face ID part cannot be swapped for a new one because it is paired to the logic board. We check Face ID before we start, so if the drop already broke it you hear that first.

Back glass

A cracked back on the iPhone Air is quoted after inspection rather than from a price list. How the rear panel comes away has changed across recent generations, and the difference between a panel swap and a housing job is too large to guess at.

Charging faults

Charging faults on the iPhone Air come through the USB-C port, and the port is usually the problem rather than the board. Ports wear with every cable pulled out at an angle, and pocket lint packs into the bottom until the plug can no longer seat. Often a careful clean fixes it; if not, it is a port repair rather than anything more serious. If it charges but more slowly than it used to, try a different charger first: USB-C fast charging depends on the charger and cable as much as the phone.

Liquid damage

Liquid damage on the iPhone Air is corrosion, not just water, and it keeps spreading after the phone feels dry. Its water-resistance rating is a factory figure that weakens with every drop and repair. Apple's warranty does not cover liquid damage on any iPhone. Turn it off, do not charge it, and skip the rice. We strip the phone, clean the board ultrasonically and test each part individually — and if it cannot be saved economically, we say so and put your data first.

Cameras, speakers and buttons

Blurry or black photos, a cracked camera lens cover, a front camera that fails on video calls, muffled speakers and buttons that stop responding are all individually repairable on the iPhone Air. Cracked lens glass is often just the cover — a much smaller job than a new camera module — so we check which one you actually need before quoting.

iPhone Air repair FAQs

How much does a iPhone Air screen repair cost?

On an OLED phone like the iPhone Air, a proper OLED panel costs more than the incell LCDs some shops fit, and we tell you which one we are quoting. The booking page shows a starting price for each repair on your model, and after the diagnostic you get a fixed quote before any work starts. £45 diagnostic, waived on repair.

Is it worth repairing a iPhone Air in 2026?

Usually, yes. The iPhone Air is still supported by Apple and quick enough for everyday use, so a screen, battery or charging port costs a fraction of replacing it. You get a fixed quote first and can weigh it against a new phone with the real number in front of you.

Will Face ID still work after a screen replacement?

Yes, when the repair is done carefully. Face ID lives in the sensor array, not in the display, so a new screen does not affect it by itself. It stops working when the fragile flex cables are damaged during the job, and a damaged Face ID part cannot be replaced with a new one because it is paired to the logic board. We check Face ID before we start, so if the drop already broke it you hear that first.

Will I lose my photos and apps?

No. Screen, battery, charging port and camera repairs do not touch your storage, and we do not wipe phones as part of a repair. Back up to iCloud or a computer before sending any phone to any repairer anyway — that is basic sense, not an expectation that something will go wrong. If your iPhone Air will not power on and the data matters, tell us when you book and we will make data recovery the priority.

Can I post my iPhone Air to you?

Yes. Our mail-in service is free both ways, tracked and insured, and covers the whole UK. You get the same fixed quote before any work starts and the same 30-day warranty as a walk-in.

How long does a iPhone Air repair take?

Most screen and battery repairs are done the same day once the phone is with us, provided the part for your exact model is in stock. If we have to order one for an older or less common model, we tell you the timescale when we quote.
