iPhone Screen Replacement

On every iPhone from the X onwards the display is OLED and the digitiser is bonded to it, so a cracked screen means replacing the assembly rather than the glass. The important question is not really whether we can fit a screen — anyone can — but what you lose when it is fitted badly. Apple pairs each display to the logic board, and a screen swapped without transferring that pairing loses True Tone, may lose auto-brightness, and puts an "Unknown Part" notice in your settings.

We transfer the original display programming across to the new panel, which keeps True Tone and auto-brightness working and keeps the phone behaving as it did. On Face ID models it is worth knowing what is and is not at risk: Face ID lives in the sensor array at the top of the screen, not in the panel, so it survives a careful replacement — but the flex carrying it is fragile, and Face ID lost during a screen repair cannot be restored by anyone, Apple included. That is the single most common way a cheap screen repair goes permanently wrong.

Green lines or a black screen after a drop are worth diagnosing rather than assuming. Sometimes the panel has failed; sometimes the display connector has simply unseated on the board, which is a much smaller job. We check before quoting, and if the phone only needs reseating we will tell you that rather than sell you a screen.
