The iPhone 6 uses an LCD rather than an OLED display. That makes it one of the more affordable iPhone screens to replace, and a good LCD looks right on it because it is the same kind of panel the phone shipped with. There is no True Tone on this generation, so there is no display calibration to carry across, which keeps the job straightforward.
Apple designs the iPhone 6's battery to keep about 80% of its capacity after 500 full charge cycles. At around 12 years old, yours may well be past that — check Settings, Battery, Battery Health. Below 80%, iOS can slow the phone to prevent sudden shutdowns, which is why an older iPhone often feels slow rather than short of charge.
The iPhone 6's Touch ID sensor is in the home button and is paired to the logic board, so the original button has to move onto the replacement screen. Nobody can pair a new button to your phone, Apple included — at best it restores basic presses, never fingerprint unlock. We transfer the original as standard, and if the drop destroyed it we tell you before the repair rather than after.
The iPhone 6 has an aluminium back, not glass, so there is no rear glass to crack. Dents and bends are cosmetic until they press on the battery or screen. If the back has bulged or the screen is lifting at one edge, that is usually a swollen battery pushing outwards, and it needs looking at promptly.
Charging faults on the iPhone 6 come through the Lightning port, and the port is usually the problem rather than the board. Ports wear with every cable pulled out at an angle, and pocket lint packs into the bottom until the plug can no longer seat. Often a careful clean fixes it; if not, it is a port repair rather than anything more serious. Lightning cables fail often, so we test with a known-good one before blaming the port.
Liquid damage on the iPhone 6 is corrosion, not just water, and it keeps spreading after the phone feels dry. This generation has no official water-resistance rating at all. Apple's warranty does not cover liquid damage on any iPhone. Turn it off, do not charge it, and skip the rice. We strip the phone, clean the board ultrasonically and test each part individually — and if it cannot be saved economically, we say so and put your data first.
Blurry or black photos, a cracked camera lens cover, a front camera that fails on video calls, muffled speakers and buttons that stop responding are all individually repairable on the iPhone 6. Cracked lens glass is often just the cover — a much smaller job than a new camera module — so we check which one you actually need before quoting.
