Signs you need this repair
- The front glass is cracked or chipped
- The screen is black, but the watch still vibrates or chimes
- Touch does not respond, or the watch taps things by itself
- Lines, flickering or a green tint across the display
- The screen has come away from the case (often a swollen battery, not a screen fault)
What actually goes wrong
On every Apple Watch the display is bonded to the front crystal, so a cracked screen is repaired by fitting a complete display assembly. Nobody can properly replace “just the glass” on an Apple Watch, and a shop that offers to is not doing the job you think you are paying for.
The crystal depends on the case. Aluminium watches use Ion-X glass, or Ceramic Shield 2 from the Series 12; stainless steel, titanium and ceramic watches, and every Ultra, use sapphire. We check which you have and match it, and never hand back a sapphire watch with plain glass on it.
The price depends on the model, the case size and the crystal, which is why it is a “from” price. Sapphire and the newest displays cost more than Ion-X on an older watch. We run a full diagnostic and give you a fixed quote before any work starts. The £45 diagnostic fee is waived when you go ahead with the repair. The Series 12 and Ultra 4 are too new for a standing price, so we quote those individually.
Apple Watch displays are expensive parts, so on an older watch we will tell you honestly when the repair costs more than the watch is worth. We are an independent workshop, not an Apple Authorised Service Provider, so we fit high-quality replacement parts rather than Apple service stock, and we tell you what is going into your watch before you agree to the work.

Can you replace just the glass on an Apple Watch?

No. The display is bonded to the front crystal on every generation, so a cracked screen means a complete display assembly. We fit the correct one for your exact model, case size and crystal.
My screen has popped off but is not cracked. Do I need a new screen?

Probably not. A screen that has lifted cleanly away from the case is nearly always a swollen battery pushing it out. That is a battery replacement and a reseal, which costs less than a display, provided the display and its cable have not been damaged.
Will my Apple Watch still be water resistant afterwards?

We fit a new seal whenever we open a watch, which restores water resistance as far as is achievable on a repaired watch. We cannot re-certify Apple’s original rating, so treat a repaired watch as splash- and shower-safe rather than for swimming or diving.
Can I post my Apple Watch to you?

Yes, from anywhere in the UK. You post the device to us, and £15 covers tracked, insured return postage. We review every mail-in request first and email you the address once it is approved. The repair price is the same as in the shop.
