Signs you need this repair
- The watch no longer lasts a full day

What actually goes wrong
An Apple Watch is sealed with adhesive rather than screws, so the display has to be lifted to reach the battery. We release the display, replace the cell, fit a new seal and test charging before the watch goes back to you. You get your own watch back, with your data on it.
On the Series 3 to Series 6 a tired battery often swells. The cell expands and pushes the display up and out of the case, sometimes popping it off entirely. That needs dealing with quickly: a lifted screen lets moisture in, and the pressure can crack the display or tear its cable. Stop wearing the watch and stop charging it until it has been looked at.
Apple’s own battery service usually means sending the watch away, and the watch that comes back is often a replacement unit rather than your own. We are an independent workshop, not an Apple Authorised Service Provider, so we fit high-quality replacement parts rather than Apple service stock, and we tell you what is going into your watch before you agree to the work.
We run a full diagnostic and give you a fixed quote before any work starts. The £45 diagnostic fee is waived when you go ahead with the repair. The Series 12 and Ultra 4 are too new for a standing price, so we quote those individually.

Can a swollen Apple Watch battery be replaced?

Yes, and it is one of the most common Apple Watch jobs we see, particularly on the Series 3 to Series 6. We replace the swollen cell, check the display and its cable for damage the swelling has caused, and reseal the case. Stop wearing and charging the watch in the meantime.
Do I get my own watch back?

Yes. We replace the battery inside the watch you hand us, so it comes back with your data, your pairing and your engraving. Turn off Activation Lock or bring your Apple ID passcode so we can test it properly afterwards.
Is it worth replacing the battery in an older Apple Watch?

Usually, if the watch still does what you need: a new cell costs a fraction of a new watch. If the display is also damaged the sums change, and we will tell you plainly when a repair is not worth doing.
Will my Apple Watch still be water resistant afterwards?

We fit a new seal whenever we open a watch, which restores water resistance as far as is achievable on a repaired watch. We cannot re-certify Apple’s original rating, so treat a repaired watch as splash- and shower-safe rather than for swimming or diving.
Can I post my Apple Watch to you?

Yes, from anywhere in the UK. You post the device to us, and £15 covers tracked, insured return postage. We review every mail-in request first and email you the address once it is approved. The repair price is the same as in the shop.
