Which Alienware do you have?

Alienware 16 and 18 Area-51

The 2025 flagships, with the most powerful mobile GPUs Dell fits and the heaviest cooling. A great deal of power runs through these boards.

Alienware 16 Aurora and 16X Aurora

The 2025 models that sit below the Area-51 in the range.

Alienware m16 and m18

The 16- and 18-inch m-series from 2023 and 2024, in R1 and R2 versions. The revision is on the label underneath, and it matters when ordering parts.

Alienware m15 and m17

The earlier m-series, from 2020 onwards. Still very repairable, though some parts are now harder to find — we check availability before quoting.

Alienware x14, x15, x16 and x17

The thin x-series. Less room inside than the m-series, so the cooling has less margin.

Dell G15 and G16

Dell's own gaming range, booked under the same category, with many of the same faults.

The model and revision are on the label underneath, or in Alienware Command Center. The Dell Service Tag on the same label tells us the exact configuration.

Alienware repair FAQs

My Alienware's power light blinks amber and white. What does that mean?

▼
It is Dell's built-in self-test reporting a hardware fault found at startup. The pattern — a number of amber blinks, then a number of white — narrows down what failed, such as memory, the board, the processor or the display. Count it and tell us when you book. It points the diagnosis in the right direction, but we still test the board before naming a part.

Does Dell repair Alienware laptops out of warranty?

▼
Dell offers out-of-warranty repairs, but a board fault usually means a replacement motherboard, which on a high-end Alienware is a large share of what the laptop is worth. We repair the board at component level instead, and do batteries, screens and cooling in-house.

How much does an Alienware repair cost?

▼
It depends on the model and the fault — a battery and a motherboard repair are very different jobs. We run a full diagnostic and give you a fixed quote before any work starts. The £45 diagnostic fee is waived when you go ahead with the repair.

Will a repair affect my Dell warranty?

▼
If your Alienware is still under Dell's warranty or Premium Support, use that first — we will tell you so rather than take the job. Once it is out of warranty, a third-party repair is your call.

Can I post my Alienware to you?

▼
Yes, from anywhere in the UK. You post the device to us, and £15 covers tracked, insured return postage. We review every mail-in request first and email you the address once it is approved. Pack it in its original box if you still have it, with the charger.
