Almost every Galaxy since 2023 has an AMOLED screen. The corner the trade cuts is fitting an LCD copy: grey blacks, faster battery drain, and an under-display fingerprint reader that usually stops working. We tell you which panel we are quoting.
The S21, S22 and S23 Ultras and the Note 10 and Note 20 Ultra curve over the edges. Curved glass is more exposed in a drop and harder to replace without damage, so it costs more. Every Galaxy S since the S24 is flat.
On the Ultras with a built-in S Pen, the Note range, and the Fold 3 to Fold 6, the pen writes through a digitiser layer in the screen. A replacement has to include it, or the pen stops working. The Fold 7 and Fold 8 dropped S Pen support.
